Biography
Kevin Heaney is a highly successful business executive who retired in 2006 at the age of fifty-one. Kevin’s career spanned over three decades in a number of industries and disciplines. International work experience was gained when he spent the last four years of his working life in Romania with the largest wireless phone carrier in the country. During his career he has addressed companies, employees, industry conferences and has delivered commencement speeches to graduating classes.
After eighteen months of enjoying retirement Kevin was engaged as a Key Note Speaker for a Vancouver-based company. It was the success of this engagement that inspired Kevin to rejoin the business world and share his experiences with a new and emerging generation of business professionals. Kevin believes there is nothing more rewarding than sharing his experiences with others. His goal is to help them become more successful and to enjoy the benefits of hard work and acquired knowledge as he did.
Kevin spent his first twenty-one years in business working for Canada’s Loomis Courier Service, where he started on the front lines of the business and advanced through the ranks. When Kevin left Loomis he was the Pacific Region Vice President, running the largest and most profitable region in the company. Kevin then joined the communications/high tech sector in a number of capacities. The pinnacle of his success came in Romania where he took Western style management practices and implemented them in an Eastern European culture. The successes of his sales and customer service teams, as well as the company he worked for, were ground-breaking, and in many cases, set worldwide benchmarks.
It was in Romania where Kevin fully realized the power of his acquired knowledge. Since his stay was for a predetermined length, he had to teach rather than do. Kevin’s management style was transformed from hands-on to one of mentorship. This new style helped thousands of employees achieve heights they never dreamed possible. The successes were quickly recognized by others and Kevin shared his story with many European-based, multinational companies.
As a consultant Kevin focuses on strategy development and implementation, sales force effectiveness, temporary executive services, corporate and personal mentoring, and his real passion “Key Note Speaking”.
Kevin is a passionate business leader and speaker. There is no theory in Kevin’s material; it all comes from acquired knowledge in business and as a volunteer in the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary.
